Members of our Junior Knights recently enjoyed a Science Night, during which they completed four experiments that allowed them to observe various scientific concepts.  We thank members of Student Ambassadors and moderator Mrs. Maria Zurliene for facilitating the event!

During the Junior Knights Science Night April 17, as her grandmother Debbie Benhoff observed, Mariah Benhoff placed a cotton swab with dish soap in whole milk with food coloring, which created an artistic design as the dish soap broke up the fat in the milk and dispersed the food coloring.

 

During the Junior Knights Science Night April 17, Abby Kuhl (left) and Brennan Wobbe excitedly observed the overflow of “elephant toothpaste,” which they created by combining hydrogen peroxide, yeast, and dish soap.

 

During the Junior Knights Science Night April 17, Aliya Melton (right) enjoyed rubbing Genevieve Bissonnette’s hair in order to create static on her balloon, which she then used to propel the empty Ski can across the table.
